The Maryland Association of Colleges for Teacher Education (MACTE) is a voluntary state association of higher education institutions and related organizations whose purpose is to improve the learning of all PK-12 students through high quality, evidence-based preparation and continuing education for all school personnel. MACTE is a state affiliate organization of the American Association of Colleges for Teacher Education.

MACTE provides leadership on issues related to professional education, with primary focus on teacher education and promotes effective public policy regarding professional education, enhances and improves professional education programs at member institutions, and enhances the professional effectiveness of members.

Affiliate Organizations

The members of MACTE are active in the following education organizations:

 

CEASOM – The Council of Educational Administrative and Supervisory Organizations of Maryland

CEASOM promotes continued improvement of education in the state of Maryland with the direct actions of their team members and affiliated organizations.

 

PSTEB – Professional Standards and Teacher Education Board

PSTEB promotes quality education as they ensure that educational professionals meet the threshold levels of knowledge and skills required to prepare all students successfully.
